These CVC Short Vowel Words decks are great for vowels, vowel sounds, vocabulary, letter recognition, reading and spelling. Audio is included on the 1st card for the word + spelling.
The decks are organized by Word Family (ie., ab, ad, ag, am). Each word family has 3 words. Each word has 3 images to choose from. The deck keeps the word families together which allows the student to repeat and sound out the word, recognize short vowel sounds and spell similar words from the same word family (ie. us, Gus, bus). Two cards per word paces the student allowing more time to focus on each word for discussion, questions, review and comprehension.
When the student selects the correct picture for the word, the forest animal "jumps over to the image" and the word's picture replaces the "?". This provides visual reinforcement along with an audible ding for correct answer. The 2nd card provides an area for the word to be typed, improving letter recognition, spelling and reading skills.
